The social support program runs seven programs over five days a week . the purpose of the program is to enhance wellbeing and prevent social isolation. We have a men's group, two groups for aged, a dementia group and two groups for women with chronic health conditions.

The volunteers work closely with both staff and clients. It is an intergrated and supportive team who greatly value the imput of the volunteers. Activities include exercise, discussion, theme days, outings, entertainment and occasional craft activities. Volunteers would also assist in the preperation of lunch at the centre.

Volunteer meals are provided as well as entrance fees on outings and a meal subsidy when eating out. Training is provided . There is an interview process which will include police check and WWCC and also online training.

Time Required

10.00-3.00 on either a Monday, Tuesday or Thursday

Background Checks Required

Monash Health will implement Police Check and WWCC
