About Donate 2 Drive
Donate 2 Drive is a community focused not for profit organisation providing free, volunteer-led supervised driving support to learner drivers facing financial or social barriers. Our program helps participants gain confidence, independence, and access to employment and education while promoting safer roads and stronger communities.

About the Role
Volunteer Mentor Drivers support learner drivers as they gain supervised driving experience. The role focuses on encouragement, supervision, and confidence-building rather than formal driving instruction.Mentors provide a calm and supportive environment to help learners build their driving hours and progress toward their probationary licence.

Key Responsibilities
Supervise learner drivers during scheduled driving sessions
Provide encouragement and support in a calm and respectful environment
Model safe and responsible driving behaviour
Follow all road rules and program safety guidelines
Communicate with Donate 2 Drive staff regarding scheduling or concerns

What This Role Is Not
No formal teaching or test preparation required
No transport of learners outside scheduled sessions

Skills & Attributes
We are looking for volunteers who are:

Patient and supportive
Safety-focused and responsible
Reliable and professional
Interested in helping others gain independence
Previous mentoring or community involvement is welcomed but not required.

Time Commitment
Flexible volunteering — no minimum hours
Sessions are typically 30 minutes (booked within 1-hour blocks)
Sessions run between 10:00am and 5:00pm

All volunteers receive:

Access to the Mentor Driver Handbook
Ongoing support from our Program Coordinator
