The Bridge supports adults with disabilities to achieve goals they have set for themselves. Our programs are as diverse as ten pin bowling, Men's Shed, Swimming, Job-Seeker coaching, Art/Craft, Public Transport familiarisation, and many more. We welcome volunteers to join staff and participants in community based activities as activity assistants. We need a reliable minimum commitment of 4 hours a week. The safety and wellbeing of our participants is our primary focus. VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION
The YPEP (Young Parents Education Program) hubs provide pregnant
and parenting young people, aged between 15 and 20 years old,
living in the SE Region, with an opportunity to continue to achieve
their education through the VCAL (Victorian Certificate of Applied
Learning), while studying in a supported and flexible learning
environment – young parents bring their babies to attend classes
(until babies are walking).
The program gives young parents the opportunity to access
support and advice from a range of experts about parenting, early
childhood development, financial literacy and counselling, mental
health, wellbeing, legal, housing and more. There are currently
YPEP Hubs in Hallam and Narre Warren with further sites in
The YPEP at Hallam is based within the Hallam College and has
one qualified VIT Registered Teacher and one qualified Parent &
Child Support Worker. The program commenced at Hallam in 2020 and
has had significant success. The YPEP operates 4 days per week.
We are seeking a keen and interested person to support parents
and babies with assistance as well as supporting the YPEP Teacher
with classroom setting up and organising. The person should
preferably hold minimum qualifications in early childhood education
or similiar and be available every Monday in each school term. The
YPEP does not operate on school holidays.
The successful person will be well supported to work alongside
parents, babies and staff in a high functioning learning
environment. Supervision of the successful person will be by the
YPEP Teacher and the YPEP Parent Support.
We really need assistance in picking up produce and groceries
from Coles stores in Pakenham, Lynbrook and Berwick. Round
trip may be up to 3 hours from 10.30am till latest 1.30pm but
only 1 day per week.
You will need to have a full drivers licence, and be able to
commit to regular and reliable commitment each week, but can choose
whichever day would suit you.
We are looking for responsible helpers and in return you will be
rewarded with feeling part of a positive and gregarious team and
you will feel very much part of our organisation.

Vision Australia - Seeing Eye Dogs - Various Casey locations, VIC
VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY DESCRIPTION
The Seeing Eye Dogs - Puppy Caring program needs volunteers to care for a puppy in their home from the age of 8 weeks, until they are approximately 12-15 months of age.
Carers teach, under the guidance of a puppy development officer, basic obedience, house manners, eating and toileting on command, socialisation in many different places (restaurants, cinemas, cafes, shopping centres, supermarkets etc) and to walk on lead in a relaxed manner.
Carers are visited regularly at home by their puppy development officer to provide guidance in training and caring for their puppy. SEDA holds a training day that the carer and puppy are required to attend to once a month.
Puppy caring is a very rewarding experience and our organisation couldn’t run without volunteers that participate in this program.
Social Support is looking for volunteers to work on the telephone group conference chat program. This is a fun program which caters to the socialisation needs of senior members of the community. These chats allow seniors to meet new people who share the same interests via a conference call.

help out any mornings from 9am to 12 noon. Duties include
sorting of produce, filling shleves, cleaning, helping customers
with their grocery shop.
We also have opportunities for volunteers who can contribute
their time from 10am to 4pm.
We provide an English conversation classes for adults who do not have the appropriate visa to enrol in Government funded English classes and those that have just arrived in the area.
We help students learn English for everyday activities including shopping, public transport, medical appointments, paying bills, learn about Australian culture and access community services.
Our class moved online in 2020 and will continue into 2021. Students are matched one-to-one with a tutor who provides a weekly chat experience using platforms such as Zoom, Teams or WhatsApp. Tutors are focused on the conversation aspect of the students learning. The students also receive other learning support centrally.
If you would like an opportunity to support someone from your home we are looking for a new tutor to join our team. You need to have clear spoken English, a friendly personality and respect for cultural differences.
We are also looking for someone who has English as an Additional Language (TESOL, CELTA or equivalent) or other demonstrated experience to support our tutors.
