Volunteer Matcher is a one-stop portal for volunteering in the City of Casey.
You can use Volunteer Matcher to find positions currently available in your local area, or if you are involved in a community group or organisation in the City of Casey you can post an advertisement for volunteer positions.
If you want to start volunteering the first thing you should do is think about the type of organisation you think would suit you. What are you passionate about? Which organisations are local? What types of skills do you have?
A quick checklist of things to find out includes:
As with any paid employment, when you take on a volunteer role you have rights and responsibilities.
You should always make sure you are working in a healthy, safe environment where you are free from discrimination and harm.
You have the right to expect to be consulted about organisational changes that may affect you, have the right to say “no” and to be valued by the organisation.
As a volunteer you will be expected to fulfil your duties and commitments to your role and be respectful to staff and other volunteers. It is also important you are punctual, supportive and willing to ask for help when you need it.
Use the search options to find specific roles based on category, location or date posted or you can view all the opportunities posted by simply hitting the orange Go button.
When you find an opportunity you are interested in you will need to sign up and log in to apply. Once you have done this you will be shown the contact details for the position and can then contact the organisation directly to find out more and register your interest.
If you are posting a volunteer opportunity you must make sure that you follow best practice standards and have volunteer insurance. Information on managing volunteers and volunteer programs can be found on the Volunteering Victoria website.
