SafeCornor is an early-stage community support space (launching soon) focused on providing a safe, respectful environment where people can be heard and connected to resources (non-professional support). We are hiring 2–3 volunteer supervisors (16–17+) for a remote role helping oversee community volunteers and maintain a positive space. Requirements: 16–17+, responsible, good communication skills, respectful attitude, and ability to handle sensitive conversations. Flexible hours — 2–4 hours per shift.

SafeCornor is a new, fully remote peer-support initiative preparing to launch in the coming weeks. We provide a safe, non-judgmental space where individuals can talk about how they’re feeling and be connected to helpful mental health resources when needed.

As a Volunteer Support Listener, you will respond to people reaching out for emotional support through our online chat system. Your role is to listen, provide calm and respectful conversation, and help guide individuals toward appropriate resources when necessary. You are not acting as a therapist or clinician — your focus is on being a supportive first point of contact.

Volunteers work fully remotely and choose their own shifts through our scheduling system. A minimum commitment of 15–16 hours per month is required. All activity is logged through our platform using your own device.

This role requires a National Police Check prior to starting, and a Working With Children Check may also be required depending on final service requirements.

SafeCornor is in its early stages, so volunteers joining now will be part of building the service from the ground up as it grows.

Maureen* spent many years working in the hospitality industry and has owned many of her own cafes throughout Melbourne. Maureen has always loved eating out, although since losing her license hasn’t been able to get out as much. Maureen describes herself as quick witted and a bit of joker! Maureen would love to connect with an outgoing volunteer with a good sense of humour to spend time sampling the menus of new restaurants and cafes. The role will involve providing short term social engagement to customers living in an area whilst they wait for a longer term volunteer connection. Each visit may entail checking in on 3-5 customers for a quick chat and catch up.

The successful applicant will have the availability and openness to visit and connect with multiple customers across the course of the week/fortnight. Time management will be essential to ensure that regular contact with customers is provided.

Uniting Social Support Program keeps people connected to the community to support them to live a happy and healthy life. The program assists people to keep doing the things they love.

We require friendly, fun loving volunteers with a strong understanding of professional boundaries  to assist in the facilitation of the Hallam Morning Melodies group. The group provides a recreational and social outlet for participants. The role will require you to draw on your group facilitation skills while supporting people to build valuable connections and enjoy group activities as part of their social goals.

The selected applicant will have effective communication skills and demonstrate confidence to facilitate and support group discussion and participation. Be prepared to use your own vehicle to provide transport assistance to consumers with reduced mobility, who may require the use of a four-wheel walker or stick.

You'll have respect for diversity and support a positive interaction between participants in the group, and the skills and confidence to work independently. The Clyde Cougars Football Netball Club is seeking expressions of interest from volunteers or casual helpers to support our canteen and bar operations during the football season.

The role involves preparing and serving food and drinks on Friday nights (6:30pm onwards), with additional support required on Wednesday nights for evening meals and bar service.
Times are very flexible and can be arranged to suit availability.

Applicants must either already hold a current RSA or be willing to obtain one.
